HOW DOES IT WORK?

It can be difficult to meditate for the first time - it’s natural to have thoughts moving in and out at speed. Meditation is the practice of flowing with these thoughts, letting them pass, and taking note of the things your subconscious brain is trying to process.

A sound bath uses the aural frequency of each crystal singing bowl (and other instruments) to activate your parasympathetic nervous system and help shift your brainwaves from an active state of consciousness to a slower one of meditation (alpha and theta brainwaves). In this more functional state, listeners can be more receptive to relaxation and can experience a reduction of stress hormones like cortisol. This state also allows better access to the mechanics of your subconscious mind.

Our cells are approximately 70-80% water and studies suggest that water is receptive to vibration. Like throwing a stone in a pond, sound vibration helps to relax the body and mind at a cellular level, shaking loose any stuck energy or stress, and creating a space to focus.

You may find yourself feeling energised after a sound bath; fired up and ready to take action. Alternatively, you may find yourself moving at a slower pace; relaxed or more at ease. Each sound bath is different and affects each individual in a specific way.
